Should 2RS or 2RZ bearings be used in a dusty environment?

In a dusty environment, it is generally more appropriate to use 2RS bearings.

The main difference between 2RS and 2RZ bearings lies in their sealing methods. 2RS adopts a contact-type sealing method, with a double-sided contact-type lip seal. The rubber sealing ring closely fits the inner ring to form a physical barrier, which can effectively block the penetration of fine particles and liquids. 2RZ uses a non-contact labyrinth seal, which has a gap of 0.1–0.3mm from the inner ring. It blocks large-particle pollutants through the labyrinth structure, and the friction resistance is reduced by more than 50%.

Since 2RS can better prevent the intrusion of fine dust particles, it is more suitable for dusty environments. In contrast, 2RZ is mainly used to defend against large-particle dust, and its sealing performance is relatively limited in the face of fine dust.
